Mladen Čudanov is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Serbia, where he acquired MSc and PhD degrees. He teaches organizational theory, design, and entrepreneurship courses at all three levels of studies. He was elected 12 times as one of the top 5 teachers at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in the last 20 semesters. He has 18 years of consultant experience in organizational design, entrepreneurship, startup and change management. He has collaborated on and/or helped assess more than 100 startup projects. He served as a judge in multiple entrepreneurship events, like Danube Cup. He was teaching entrepreneurship courses at several joint programs, like “TRAIN”- Training and Research for Academic Newcomers. He has published more than 140 papers in research journals and conferences, has more than 750 citations, with roughly a quarter of them from the Web of Science journals. He was a visiting Assistant Professor at joint programs of iVWA (Germany) / ZHCPT (PR China), and iVWA (Germany) / JCIT (PR China). Also, he taught at Federico Caffe Institute of Business and Economy, ROMA TRE University in Italy, and Technical Faculty at the University of Žilina, Slovakia on ERASMUS+ teacher exchange program. His main research interests lie in organizational design, startup management, restructuring of business systems, organizational change management, and information and communication technologies development. He also works as an Associate Editor and Reviewer in several journals, like JCR indexed Amfiteatru Economic and is Editor-in-Chief of Management: Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies.
Business models and design aims to introduce participants with the concept of business models and illustrate 16 leading frameworks. Among all presented models it focuses on Business model canvas of Osterwalder and Pigneur to improve skills and knowledge as well as to develop the attitudes of the participants toward the understanding of business model change inevitability in the age of digital transformation. Basic elements of the business model canvas are explained, along with the case studies of industry transformation due to the new business model. Common business models are explained and classified in the context of digital economy. Objectives: 1) Present basic different approaches to the business model framework, 2) Compare theoretical frameworks of different authors, 3) Explain in detail components of the Business model canvas by Osterwalder and Pigneur, 4) Give example business model from the age of digital economy and compare them with old business models. Purpose and outcomes: 1) Students are comfortable with the business model framework, 2) Students know examples and models fit for the digital economy, 3) Students are capable of designing, improving and criticising business model using the Osterwalder and Pigneur’s Business model canvass. Students can design and apply business models for the global digital economy.
