Alina Luchian is an expert in marketing, sales, and consulting in the IT field, with over 19 years of experience in the industry, and has an entrepreneurial spirit, proven in all the roles and positions she has held to date. He held senior positions for over 10 years in one of the largest leading companies in the software, services and consulting industry, IBM, and currently SAS Institute. Other execution functions included sales consulting, business consulting, sales, and marketing. She is a graduate of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and holds an INSEAD Master in 2008 in the field of Business Administration. She graduated from IBM Global Business School in 2005, and IBM Top Gun in 2006. She is also a Professional Coach with a degree from Barret Values in 2018. Among the distinctions obtained are diplomas for outstanding results offered by IBM in 2006 and 2009, distinctions offered by two different executives of the international corporation. Currently she occupies the position of Academic and Education Territory Lead Southeast Europe at SAS, an internationally recognized company as a world leader in the creation of software for artificial intelligence and machine learning.

A new approach of Data Science: Closing the gap between academia and industry

In 2023, The  World Economic Forum ranked data scientist as the third most desired job in the U. S. and in Europe with more than 45,500 openings. By 2028, the 11.6 millions new data scientists and data analysts  jobs will be required in all the industries, in Europe and in the US alone, according to WEF data.
